Man City set to launch renewed transfer bid for Premier League star as Guardiola seeks replacement for Kevin De Bruyne
MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly plotting another attempt to sign Lucas Paqueta as a potential successor to Kevin De Bruyne.
West Ham’s 26-year-old Brazilian playmaker looked set to move to the Etihad in August before his dream transfer came crumbling down.
City ended their interest in Paqueta after his alleged breach of betting rules came to light - something the star has denied.
He has continued to be selected by David Moyes since and he has continued his stunning form this term for the East End outfit.
Paqueta has scored four goals and produced one assist in his 15 outings and that has been enough to catch the eye of Pep Guardiola again.
The investigation into the betting allegations is still ongoing, and he is believed to have been interviewed by the FA already regarding it.

Now are stating that if Paqueta is cleared of all charges then City will make a second move for him in January.
They report that Guardiola sees him as a potential successor to 32-year-old Belgian ace De Bruyne.
The City legend is currently sidelined through injury and has been linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia himself.
He has been at the Etihad since 2015 when he arrived from Wolfsburg and has become one of the club’s all-time greatest players.
