Former Man Utd icon is now unemployed after four-year spell ends with emotional farewell as retirement claims are denied
FORMER Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini is now unemployed after leaving Chinese side Shandong Taishan.
The midfielder joined from the Red Devils in 2019 and has had a very successful spell in the Far East.
Fellaini, 35, won the league and cup double with Shandong in 2021.
Shandong won the Chinese FA Cup three years in a row between 2020-22 with Fellaini becoming a legend at the club as a result.
Fans have paid tribute to the Belgian by unveiling tifo's of the midfielder, who bid an emotional farewell to the club.
Shandong will hold a ceremony following their match on Saturday to pay tribute to Fellaini.

Shandong manager Choi Kang-hee suggested Fellaini was set to retire after leaving the club, but it appears he has had a change of heart.
According to Fellaini is now on the lookout for a new team after his agent denied claims he has retired.
Prior to his China move Fellaini spent five-and-a-half years at Old Trafford where he made 177 appearances.
He helped United win the FA Cup in 2016 before winning both the Carabao Cup and Europa League the following year.

The midfielder also made 177 appearances for Everton where he became a cult figure because of his iconic afro and goalscoring ability.
Fellaini also won 87 caps for Belgium before retiring from international football in 2019.
