Arsenal fans rage as White own goal gives West Ham lead in Carabao Cup after Ramsdale ‘has shirt ripped off by Soucek’
ARSENAL fans were furious after Ben White's own goal was allowed to stand despite Tomas Soucek appearing to pull Aaron Ramsdale's shirt.
West Ham took the lead in the 29th minute when Jarrod Bowen's corner was inadvertently headed into his own net by White.
However, Ramsdale immediately protested to referee Simon Hooper as he felt Soucek was holding his shirt and impeding him from getting to the ball.
But the Arsenal keeper's anger came to nothing as the goal was allowed to stand.
VAR is not in operation in the Carabao Cup until the semi-final stage.
And Gunners supporters could not believe the infringement had not been spotted by referee Hooper.
