Manchester United news: Red Devils happy for Jose Mourinho to continue living in £150 a night Lowry Hotel

Portuguese has kept the family home in London for his wife and two  children, with both parties regularly commuting

MANCHESTER UNITED are happy for boss Jose Mourinho to continue living in the Lowry Hotel.

Mourinho is forking out £150 a night to stay in a riverside suite at the hotel — or a whopping £54,750 a year.

But given his £15million-a-year salary, he can easily cover the cost with less than two days work.

The Portuguese has been staying at the posh Manchester hotel since he was appointed manager, while his staff live in apartments nearby. The club believe it is better for him to have that arrangement than live a more lonely existence in a house behind gates in the Cheshire belt.

Mourinho recently described his living arrangements as ‘disastrous’, but was actually just referring to being followed by photographers when he goes out to eat.

He is actually said to be enjoying life in Manchester and has certainly put a smile back on faces at the club’s Carrington training ground.
