Manchester United news: Red Devils happy for Jose Mourinho to continue living in £150 a night Lowry Hotel
Portuguese has kept the family home in London for his wife and two children, with both parties regularly commuting
MANCHESTER UNITED are happy for boss Jose Mourinho to continue living in the Lowry Hotel.
Mourinho is forking out £150 a night to stay in a riverside suite at the hotel — or a whopping £54,750 a year.
But given his £15million-a-year salary, he can easily cover the cost with less than two days work.
The Portuguese has been staying at the posh Manchester hotel since he was appointed manager, while his staff live in apartments nearby. The club believe it is better for him to have that arrangement than live a more lonely existence in a house behind gates in the Cheshire belt.
He has kept the family home in London for his wife and two children, with both parties regularly commuting to see each other.
Mourinho recently described his living arrangements as ‘disastrous’, but was actually just referring to being followed by photographers when he goes out to eat.
He is actually said to be enjoying life in Manchester and has certainly put a smile back on faces at the club’s Carrington training ground.
United are unbeaten in ten games and have won their last four.
They are through to the knockout stages of the Europa League and have made the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, where they will take on Hull.
