Man Utd star McTominay goes from hero to villain in minutes as he gives away silly penalty after scoring
SCOTT MCTOMINAY went from hero to zero after he cancelled out his goal by giving away a penalty just minutes afterwards.
The Scot put Manchester United ahead against Sheffield United in the 28th minute with a superb control and finish inside the area.
But just six minutes later Sheffield United were given a chance to level things up from 12 yards out.
An incoming cross was cut out by the outstretched arm of McTominay and after a long wait for VAR confirmation, referee Michael Oliver was forced to point to the spot.
Up stepped Oli McBurnie for The Blades who slotted his spot kick into the top corner well out of the reach of Andre Onana to make it 1-1.
It will have been a sigh of relief for the Sheffield United striker who was yet to score this season and had missed three of his last five penalties.
