Punter takes bookies to the cleaners with amazing 4,394-1 bet that nets them a huge return from six straight winners

A PUNTER left the bookies reeling after rattling off six straight winners at Ffos Las to land a remarkable 4,391-1 bet.

The lucky William Hill punter pocketed £23,000 off his £7 bet, which started off with Mt Fugi Park winning the opener.

The punter's Ffos Las bet proved to be a masterstroke

He went off 11-4 second-favourite behind a well-fancied 8-13 Paul Nicholls-trained poke, cruising clear late on to score in ready fashion.

The punter took 3-1 on Matata in the second race and there was never a moments doubt.

Daryl Jacob was always in control on the well-backed 9-4 favourite, steering his mount to an all-the-way victory on his chasing debut.

Nemean Lion was a very gutsy winner of the third race, fending off a fast finishing rival following a slick round of jumping.

Horizon D'Or was another of their selections to see support and it was another success that was never really in doubt.

His fifth leg, Ideallko, needed to see off strong morning favourite Lusitanien, but his fancy was slammed in the market close to the off.

The money was well-placed, as Ideallko flew the last fence and went on to score a shade comfortably.

That left a nervous wait ahead of Doyen Quest's run in the bumper.

For the second time in the bet, another Paul Nicholls-trained hotpot needed to be turned over - and turned over it was.

The Skelton brothers have made a roaring start to the season and another promising recruit helped the punter secure his enormous payday.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps, said: “While it may appear one punter had their crystal ball out at Ffos Las yesterday, this actually has the look of a highly skilled bet, with all six winning selections in six consecutive races on the card priced between 11/2 and 2/1.

“It appears this is a punter that really knows their horses and they’ve clearly reaped rich rewards for their knowledge, landing a 4393/1 winning bet to turn just £7 into a cool £23k.”

It was a crazy weekend for punters across the globe, as an Australian punter landed a staggering £4.9MILLION on Saturday.

They entered a free competition with the New Zealand TAB and correctly predicted the finishing position of all 12 horses.
