Diego Costa contract will see him become Chelsea’s joint highest paid player with £200,000 a week deal
CHELSEA are set to offer Diego Costa a new deal reportedly worth £200k-a-week which would see the Spanish striker become the club's joint highest paid player alongside Eden Hazard.
The Spanish international is currently taking home around £185k-a-week so although it's not exactly a 'bumper new deal', the transformed Costa has more than earned his pay rise after netting 13 Premier League goals so far this season.
The striker's current deal keeps him at Stamford Bridge until 2019 but the club are now rumoured to be ready to table an improved offer with a two-year extension to his contract.
Costa, 28, who is thought to have experienced some difficulty adjusting to the media scrutiny, weather and culture in England, is much happier under new boss Antonio Conte and is losing the 'hot head' tag that has long been associated with him.
