Gary Neville calls out Tottenham star for doing ‘the worst thing you could do’ in Arsenal clash
GARY NEVILLE has slammed Cristian Romero after his own goal in the North London derby.
The Tottenham defender deflected Bukayo Saka's strike into his own net to give Arsenal the lead.
Saka had cut inside from the right before going for goal from the edge of the box.
However, his effort appeared to be going wide before hitting Romero's outstretched leg and nestling in the corner.
Speaking on commentary for Sky Sports, Neville fumed: "That's the worst thing you could do," as he reacted to Romero's error.
He also went on to add that Romero was "rash wafting his leg at that".
The own goal saw the Gunners break the deadlock at the Emirates Stadium, having been kept out by Spurs for the opening 26 minutes.
Romero was again partnering summer signing Micky van de Ven in central defence for Ange Postecoglou's side.
The World Cup winner has started each of Spurs' matches so far this season.
He has even chipped in with two goals at the right end, scoring against both Brentford and Burnley already this term.

Fortunately for Romero, Spurs pulled themselves level again before half-time.
Captain Heung-min Son's goal tied the game at 1-1 just minutes before the interval.
