Man City ‘make improved £52m offer for Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes’ as player misses Everton victory
MANCHESTER CITY have made an improved £52million bid for Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes, it's claimed.
The Portugal international was absent from his side's 1-0 win at Everton on Saturday.
City have already had a £47million offer knocked back by Wolves last week.
However, the Treble winners remain in the hunt to bring Nunes to the Etihad Stadium.
According to the , City have lodged a fresh bid for Nunes but are not willing to go much higher.
The report adds that the club hope to complete a deal soon after offering £52million for the 25-year-old.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano adds that the current table-toppers are confident the move will go through.
Wolves are interested in City duo James McAtee and Tommy Doyle, but neither player is expected to be included in the deal.
Nunes missed Wolves' victory over Everton at the weekend as he served a one-match suspension.
The midfielder was sent off in the clash with Brighton earlier this month after picking up two yellow cards.

Manager Gary O'Neil was confident his side could hold on to Nunes after the match, though.
Speaking after the match, he explained: "He's an important player for us who has four or five years left on his contract, but we rejected a bid because we didn't feel it met our valuation of what Matheus is worth to us."
Nunes still has four years remaining on his deal and only joined Wolves for a then club-record £38million last summer.
His imminent departure has seemingly been confirmed, though, after Matheus Cunha shared an emotional Instagram post.
The Brazilian posted a snap of himself kissing Nunes' cheek and wrote: "My brother! May God bless you a lot, thank you for all the moments of partnership since I arrived! I love you brother!"
City have until Friday's 11pm deadline to complete the signing of Nunes, who could make his debut at home against Fulham on Saturday.
