After six months in Turkey he joined Manchester United in January, but failed to make much of a positive impression at Old Trafford.

Weghorst, 31, scored two goals in 31 appearances for Erik ten Hag's side - before returning to Burnley for pre-season.

His comeback was not well received by Clarets fans, with some booing him during a pre-season appearance last month.

With the Premier League season set to kick off this weekend, Weghorst has sealed another move away from Burnley.
