West Ham ‘agree personal terms with Ajax ace’ with transfer fee to be thrashed out for Declan Rice replacement
WEST HAM have agreed personal terms with Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez, according to reports.
The Hammers are seeking a replacement for Declan Rice - who joined Arsenal in a £105million deal last month.
David Moyes' men have seen THREE bids for Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse rejected by the Championship club.
And their pursuit of Manchester United man Scott McTominay has also come to nothing.
They have also been linked with Fulham's Joao Palhinha.
But according to transfer expert , they are now progressing towards signing their first player of the summer in Ajax man Alvarez, 25.

West Ham are said to have agreed terms with the midfielder.
And the Irons will hold talks with Ajax over the weekend as they look to agree a fee - which is expected to be in the region of £35-40million.
The Mexican has been admired for some time by Moyes and West Ham, while he has also received interest from Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United.
Chelsea attempted to seal a deal 12 months ago, but could not come to an agreement with Ajax.

This led Alvarez to say: "I am very disappointed about it. But I am convinced that one day a big club will come."
Dortmund then came close to securing his signature earlier this summer, only to rule themselves out of the running.
Alvarez joined Ajax from Mexican side Club America in 2019 on a five-year deal, which has since been extended to 2025.
He has contributed 13 goals and six assists in 147 appearances for the Eredivisie giants.
