REAL MADRID have had bid of £7m turned down for Alexander Isak dubbed the new 'Zlatan' paving the way for Chelsea to make their move.
The 17 year old plays for Swedish club AIK and has been in fine form in the Allsvenkan scoring 10 goals in 24 matches that has got the whole of Europe watching him.
As the top clubs on the continent circle it appears Chelsea have managed to force themselves ahead of the queue and will look to strike a deal for the young Swede in January.
Real Madrid have been signing up all the young talent in recent years including Martin Odegaard who had offers after successful trials at Arsenal and Liverpool.
Chelsea will still face opposition for Isak with the likes of Bayern Munich and West Ham after the striker.
AIK sporting director Bjorn Wesstrom has said: ''There are a lot of rumours and speculation about Alexander right now.
''As usual, we do not comment on anything surrounding it.''
The European Champions are likely to come back in with an increased offer but Chelsea are confident they can beat the Spanish giants to Isak.

The fact Chelsea are looking at signing another young striker may not be the kind of news young English striker Tammy Abraham wants to hear having been shipped out on loan to Bristol City in the Championship.
The striker has been in great form for City and England under 21's this season with his path being blocked to Chelsea's first team by the signing of Michy Batshuayi.
The Belgium international signed from Marseille in the summer and has hardly featured for the Blues this season leaving many wondering why Abraham wasn't not given the chance to make a breakthrough at Stamford Bridge.
The 19 year old has scored 12 goals in 23 games for Bristol City this season as well as netting two in two for England under 21's.
