An agreement on the transfer fee is all that remains between Real Madrid and PSG, who value Mbappe at around £210million.

Mbappe's mum Faiza Lamary is said to have told the Spanish giants that they are trying to lower PSG's asking price.

Real Madrid are not willing to meet the valuation, but all parties are confident an outcome is close to being reached.

The report adds that Real Madrid will either agree a fee before the window closes or sign Mbappe for free next summer.

Prior to Karim Benzema's move to Saudi Arabia, Los Blancos had planned to sign a pre-contract agreement with Mbappe in the new year.

PSG now want to sell him this summer, though, in an attempt to avoid losing him for free in 2024.

Interest from Saudi Arabia has prompted urgency from Real Madrid in their pursuit of the World Cup winner.

However, they remain the favourites to land his signature if he leaves the French capital.
