Challenge Cup rivals George and Toby King battle for Wembley place – after one left the other NAKED

GEORGE King has a naked ambition to get one over brother Toby and help Hull KR to Wembley – after being left showing a lot more than he wanted to.

The brothers and ex-national swimming champions go head-to-head when Rovers take on Wigan in Sunday’s Challenge Cup semi-final.

And George hopes to make his sibling’s ambitions vanish at Leeds’ Headingley, just like his dissolvable shorts did when Toby acted as his best man and stag do organiser for his wedding.

As a result, tourists in Benidorm got a lot more of an eyeful.

“I didn’t know the shorts I had on were dissolvable,” said George. “I thought, ‘He’s picked me an all right lifeguard outfit here. He’s going easy on me.’

“Then all the lads thought it would be a good idea to jump into the sea. The next thing I knew, I was naked in Benidorm.

“Did I have undies on underneath? Did I ‘eck!

“Toby ran a great trip and got us there without any dramas. There was plenty I can’t repeat though.

“He and my older brother Adam were best men and the speech was good, it was eventful – and nothing from that can be repeated.

“I might have to take him off the best man list if I ever get married,” Toby added. “We proper stitched him up, he’d probably do the same.

“We had him in a mankini one day, then the dissolvable shorts. They disappeared on him, he was left with nothing on and everyone on the beach could see!

“I don’t think he was happy with me at the time but I had a spare pair with me.

“And the speech had a lot of pressure on it. It was an honour to be his best man but on Sunday it all changes, I don’t think we’ll be friends then.”

No matter what happens, parents Andrew and Hannah will get a day at Wembley watching one of their sons in the final.

George admits there has been the "odd one liner" thrown around between the brothers – and if the on field action is as heated as the counter to Toby’s claim he helped renovate his house, expect fireworks.

The 28-year-old, 16 months older than his opponent, added: “Toby’s made out he did all the hard work. The reality is he only came down for about 40 minutes.

“He came saying he would help out all day. After half an hour, he couldn’t hack it and that was him done!

“I watched him trying to dig a trench. I said, ‘Toby, you’re going to have to leave it.’ He couldn’t even do that! I said, ‘Stick to rugby league, mate.’

“And Toby’s won a cup while I’ve lost two finals – the desperation will definitely be coming from me to get one over on him.”

Toby and George showed their sporting talents while attending Huddersfield’s Honley High School, where they won national rugby league and swimming titles.

But the rivalry will not spill over with Wembley on the line, with Toby feeling for his parents.

He added: “We’re competitive but we’d pretty much always played alongside each other. It’s weird to be playing against each other in a big game like this.

“We won the national swimming medley final at school together then won the national schools rugby league title.

“We had a pizza night at mum and dad’s then we’ve not really spoken too much. It’s like another day at the office really and I feel for Mum and Dad.

“I don’t think they’re looking forward to the game. A semi-final is no place for a loser.”
