Why do tennis players have tape on their hands?
Using tape during a tennis match has various benefits for the player.
For example, it can improve their grip.
Instead of worrying about their grip in a rally or set, taping their hands can be also good for their consistency since the racket will not turn in their hands.
Furthermore, finger tape provides additional protection.
After a long game, the racket might have made the hand feel sore and tape can prevent that from happening.
And lastly, hand taping can offer the chance to swing the racket faster and generate more power in the game.

Viewers had one complaint as Carlos Alcaraz wins explosive Wimbledon final
While fans had no complaints about the tennis, some BBC viewers were not impressed with today's choice of commentary.
Several Wimbledon fans took to Twitter to fume that John McEnroe was missing from the commentary team.
Taking to Twitter one fan wrote: "The BBC failing to give us the man we want to hear and that’s John McEnroe for a Wimbledon final."
A second said: "Missing McEnroe’s commentary."
Another fan was not happy with substitute Andrew Castle, remarking: "Andrew Castle commentating on the final is an absolutely pathetic decision by the BBC.
"John McEnroe is so much better and knowledgeable."
But there is a good reason the explosive American is not with the BBC this time around, and that is due to having commitments elsewhere.
The 64-year-old, who won Wimbledon three times (1981, 1983 and 1984), was working for American broadcaster ESPN.
Alcaraz delivers the goods
In that final set, Alcaraz produced 18 winners and made just five unforced errors - overall, he managed 66 winners and 45 unforced errors.
Djokovic, in comparison, was 3-3 in the fifth and 32-40 overall.
