West Ham ‘ready to splash Declan Rice cash on Harry Maguire’ but face battle to convince him to leave Man Utd
WEST HAM are preparing to splash some of the £105m cash from Declan Rice’s sale on Harry Maguire.
England midfielder Rice finally sealed his British transfer record switch to Arsenal earlier today.
He left the Hammers following six years at the club and captained them to the Europa Conference League trophy last season.
Rice, 24, has finally signed after the two London sides agreed on a payment structure, with Arsenal paying £100m by 2025 with a further £5m in bonuses.
His £105million move from East to North London sees him become the most expensive English player ever - although this could be surpassed by Jude Bellingham's move to Real Madrid which can reach £115m if various clauses are met.
Now West Ham boss David Moyes is wasting no time in trying to reinvest that money and bolstering his squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

And claim that they are “ready to test Maguire’s resolve to stay and fight for his place at Manchester United” over the coming days.
The Red Devils captain, 30, had already suffered a dip in form before the arrival of Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford last summer.
But the England international’s struggles continued at the start of last season and now he has found himself regularly warming the bench.
Despite being linked with a transfer switch to both Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, exclusively revealed by Sun Sport, the defender has been adamant that he is happy at United.

But this fresh update states he is “high on Moyes’s wanted list at centre-back” but they “prefer a loan move to a permanent deal at this stage”.
Maguire was signed from Leicester for £85m back in 2019.
He is now believed to be valued at around the £30m mark, with only two years remaining on his £190,000-a-week contract.
England manager Gareth Southgate has also continued to pick Maguire but the star knows that the chance of regular football will help bolster his chances of playing at next summer’s Euros.
