Horse racing tips: Templegate NAP has been working up to a win and has top young jockey in the saddle

TEMPLEGATE tackles day two of the brilliant Newmarket July Festival hungry for winners.

PAINTERS PALETTE (2.15 Ascot, nap)

He has been working up to a win and followed an Ayr second with a close-up effort at Carlisle last time. He drops into an apprentice race with an excellent young pilot on board.

LIVE YOUR DREAM (3.00 Newmarket, nb)

Was an excellent third in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot. He is better over this longer trip as he showed when winning this race two seasons ago.

SWINGALONG (2.40 York, treble)

Takes a big drop in class after running a belter in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. She tanked along there and should be too strong for these.

MIGHTY RIVER showed big heart to win from the front here last time and can pull off the same feat.

It has paid to be up with the pace at this track and a 4lb rise is fair.

Tagabawa didn’t fully see out 1m4f when a still-good sixth in the King George V at Royal Ascot.

The Appleby horses are in much better fettle now and this drop in trip looks wise.

Stablemate Local Dynasty was a solid third in the Golden Gates at the Royal meeting and likes this trip. He’s a player despite top weight.

Seendid has more to offer after winning a novice contest over course and distance.

STAR OF MYSTERY looks on a different level after winning the Listed Empress Stakes over course and distance earlier this month.

She quickened nicely under William Buick and can take another step forward.

Soprano won her debut on the Rowley course before a good third in the Albany at Royal Ascot.

She was first home up the nearside and there should be more to come after just outings.

Persian Dreamer was a place behind her in the Albany and is another to win on debut here.

She improved for the move up to six furlongs but will need more to turn the form around.

The other two have plenty to find with Woodhay Wonder looking a fair prospect when scoring at Newbury latest.

LIVE YOUR DREAM looked to be crying out for this step back up to 1m6f when finishing a good third at Royal Ascot over shorter.

That was just his second run after a two-year break having won this race in 2021.

He’s higher in the weights now but could still have more to offer even as a six-year-old.

Torcello was chinned right on the line over this trip on the Rowley course last time.

He relished the soft ground there and could well get his ideal conditions again. That would give him every chance.

Aimeric wasn’t disgraced at Royal Ascot but is better over this longer distance. He can run well for in-form Roger Varian.

Diamond Bay had a bit left in the tank when winning at York so can’t be ruled out on his hike in grade.

Kihavah keeps winning lower levels. This is tougher but he has place claims.

VIA SISTINA was impressive when winning the Pretty Polly over 1m2f at The Curragh but she has enough class to drop in trip.

Connections are keeping an eye on the ground as she’ll only run if there’s give in it.

Remarquee clocked a personal best when second in the Coronation at Royal Ascot. She may have won with a clearer run and has more to offer.

Coppice won a Royal Ascot handicap with loads in hand and can cope with this higher grade.

The Gosdens thought she would be a Group 1 filly this season.

Nashwa has had a couple of knocks and needs to bounce back over this shorter trip.

Last year’s winner Prosperous Voyage can’t be ignored in a hot contest.

YORK

NORTHERN EXPRESS was a close-up third in the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot after an even better effort here.

He likes this trip and a 2lb rise for his last run is fair.

Another Investment is up 11lb for an impressive win over course and distance in June.

If he can repeat that form he’ll be a massive threat.

Bopedro is slightly better over a mile and finished strongly into sixth in the Buckingham Palace. He’ll be running on again.

Vafortino will enjoy this smaller field after traffic problems at Royal Ascot.

This trip is ideal and he could try to nick this from the front.

Zip is consistent and more rain would bring him into it after a good effort at Newcastle. He likes it soft on turf.

SWINGALONG should be too good on this drop in class. She went from the front when a two-length third in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

This trip is ideal and she can pull off the same tactics with more success.

Marine Wave looks a fair price after staying on well over a furlong shorter at Ayr latest. This longer distance is likely to suit.

Royal Aclaim was a place behind her in Scotland when very well backed and should be right in the hunt again.

Mammas Girl was a Group 3 winner on return but hasn’t shown much over a mile this term albeit in Group 1s.

This shorter trip and lesser grade could get her back on track.

Pink Crystal didn’t get the run of the race behind Radio Good Goo here last month and can turn that form around and maybe run into the frame for trainer William Haggas.
