Arsenal flop Albert Sambi Lokonga closes in on Burnley move but transfer could be hampered by little-known rule

The Belgian, 23, had an unhappy loan spell at Crystal Palace and wants to be sure about his next move.

Burnley would buy Lokonga and the Gunners would sell but a loan may be the eventual solution.

Kompany also hopes Pep Guardiola will help him out with a deal for James Trafford.

Burnley want a permanent move for the England Under-21 keeper, allowing Kompany to loan another Manchester City player.

However, new Leicester chief Enzo Maresca is also interested in loaning Trafford from his old club.

Clarets have also bid for Antwerp’s French keeper Jean Butez and will let Bailey Peacock-Farrell go out on loan again after he helped Sheffield Wednesday to League One promotion last term.

Hull City and Swansea are both keen.

Burnley won the Championship last season to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
