Arsenal star Rob Holding ‘set for shock loan transfer abroad’ as Arteta overhauls squad with Timber signing
ARSENAL star Rob Holding is set for a shock loan move to Besiktas, according to reports.
The centre-back could be allowed to leave the club with the Gunners closing in on the signing of Jurrien Timber.
Arsenal have agreed personal terms with the Ajax star and submitted an improved second bid yesterday, thought to be in the region of £41.5million.
Mikel Arteta is looking to overhaul the squad as they aim to challenge Manchester City for the title again and go deep in the Champions League.
As a result, several players could be let go with Holding ready to depart for more regular first-team football.
The report that Celtic were keen on the 27-year-old but Besiktas are now leading the race.

Holding is in discussions over signing for the Turkish giants that came third in the league last year.
He would join forces with ex-Premier League stars Romain Saiss, Arthur Masuaku, Nathan Redmond and Cenk Tosun at Besiktas.
Holding has a year left on his deal at Arsenal and could still pen a new contract to ensure his value does not decrease while he is in Istanbul.
The ex-Bolton man has been on the books at the Emirates since 2016 when he was snapped up for just £2million.
He has gone on to play 162 times for the North Londoners, helping them win the FA Cup twice.
Holding played 24 times last season, coming into the side towards the end of the campaign when William Saliba got injured.
