Belgium team-mates Van den Bergh & Huybrechts in mystery ‘personal’ feud as fans spot awkward tension at Darts World Cup

However, they refused to even look at each other during the match.

And neither of them wanted to shake hands afterwards.

During Viaplay’s coverage of the tournament on Thursday evening, Dutch player and pundit Vincent van der Voort confirmed that the pair were not speaking.

The 47-year-old claimed that it was due to Van den Burgh filing a complaint related to Huybrechts to the Professional Darts Corporation.

Fans were quick to spot the tension, with one person tweeting: "Why are Dimitri Van Den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts not talking to each other? Seems very childish."

Another added: "Do Huybrechts and Van den Bergh not like each other?"

A third wrote: "Did Van den Bergh and Huybrechts actually look each other in the eye once during the match?"

While a fourth said: "Such weird behaviour with Van den Bergh & Huybrechts. Never spoke a word or acknowledged each other that whole match. Clearly got beef."

Van den Bergh and Huybrechts released a joint statement on Friday to assure fans that their feud will not get in the way of their quest for the Cup.

It read: "Following last night’s win at the My Diesel Claim World Cup of Darts, we have sat down to discuss our recent differences.

"Whilst some issues remain to be resolved in the fullness of time, we are both fully committed to doing our best as a team to win the World Cup of Darts for Belgium, and to represent ourselves, our families and our country in the best light.

"That begins with tonight’s game against China, and our focus is now on preparing for that match as a team."
