Eva last night said: “They [the abusers] just seem to be faceless cowards and they should be answerable to legislation.”

She was branded “naive” by then Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in August 2015 for treating Eden Hazard in stoppage-time in a match against Swansea.

The row eventually led Eva to leave the club and go to a tribunal claiming sex discrimination and constructive dismissal.

She accepted an out-of-court settlement from Chelsea in June.

The Gibraltar-born Brit said death threats were posted on social media while she was on her honeymoon last November with Jason De Carteret.

She praised her husband as her “place of safety.”

But she told The Daily Telegraph: “Even though I don’t have a presence on social media – I think I have made one post ever in my life – some of the threats of sexual violence and death threats make it through.”

Mourinho was furious at his first-team doctor as Chelsea were briefly down to nine players with Hazard being treated off the pitch. He said: “You have to understand the game. My medical department left me with eight fit outfield players.”

Eva always defended her actions and said: “What happened to me happened very publicly and therefore could have had huge implications for health and safety in sport if this wasn’t clarified.”

She said she never thought gender inequality was a problem growing up — but was faced with sexist attitudes later.

She said: “There was very much a dialogue of bringing attention to my gender or objectifying me in some way.

“They described that as a limit to my career progression in that direction, which I was stunned by. It was a dialogue more appropriate for the 1950s.”

She said colleagues were always “bringing attention to my gender, bringing attention to the way I dress and the way I look”.
