How Tottenham could line up under Ange Postecoglou with new boss raiding former club and Man Utd for new-look team

TOTTENHAM could have a whole new look under new boss Ange Postecoglou as he plots several transfer additions.

The Aussie will officially join the North Londoners from Celtic on July 1 after Spurs agreed to pay the Hoops £5million in compensation.

Postecoglou, who has signed a five-year contract, won five trophies in two seasons in Scotland, having joined Celtic from Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos.

Before that spell in the Far East, the 57-year-old was in charge of the Australian national team for four years until 2017.

Now he will be targeting ending the North London club’s long wait for silverware and is already looking for reinforcements.

Brentford stopper David Raya is the man that Tottenham want to be their new goalie.

The Postecoglou era at Spurs, however, is unlikely to include skipper and club legend Harry Kane.

England international Kane is expected to leave the club in the summer after nearly 20 years of service and SunSport understands Manchester United are hot on his heels.

Now Real Madrid have joined the chase and that only further adds to talk of the club’s record scorer departing.

But Postecoglou is set to spark a £20million Europe-wide scramble to sign Kyogo Furuhashi as a replacement.

SunSport revealed the Celtic striker would be the Aussie’s No 1 target when he joined Spurs.

Kyogo joined Celts from Vissel Kobe for £4.6m in July 2021 and would now easily be worth five times as much after 54 goals in 83 appearances.

Celtic sold Odsonne Edouard to Crystal Palace for £15m two years ago, but the French striker only had 12 months left on his deal.

Kyogo has two years and Parkhead chiefs are under no pressure to sell but he will turn 29 in January and knows he has limited time to make it to Europe’s top leagues.

Fresh reports are also claiming that Spurs are keen to sign Harry Maguire in a shock transfer from Manchester United.

Maguire, 30, slipped down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag last season, with Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof preferred.

The ex-Leicester and Hull centre-back has been linked with a summer move away.

And Tottenham have thrown their hat into the ring – along with Newcastle – to bolster their defensive ranks, with Eric Dier, Clement Lenglet and Cristian Romero the preferred centre-backs in 2022-23.

Kane has previously recommended Three Lions pal Maguire to the Tottenham brass.

And the chance to team up with England mate Maguire under Postecoglou could convince him to stay – at least for another season.

Spurs will likely play a 4-3-3 formation under Postecoglou.

Pedro Porro will likely be deployed at right back, with Cristian Romero and Clement Lenglet playing at centre-back alongside Magiure should they be able to pull off a deal.

And Udinese’s Destiny Udogie will play at left back should his proposed move to north London come to fruition.

Pierre Hojbjerg will likely anchor the three-man midfield with Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Heung-Min Son will be a dead cert to start on the left of a three-pronged attack, with Dejan Kulusevski in contention to start on the right once his loan deal is made permanent.

Even if Kane does stay before walking away as a free agent next term, then the new man could have the option of playing Kyogo in attack alongside Son and their talisman in a mouthwatering front three.
