Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal betting tips
Will Arsenal be able to lift themselves after all-but conceding the Premier League title to Manchester City? It's a tough ask for Mikel Arteta's side to dust themselves down and go again after Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Brighton.
The result means Pep Guardiola's outfit will be crowned champions with two games to spare if they beat rudderless Chelsea in their next fixture at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, or if Arsenal don't collect maximum points.
The Gunners have to put that the back of their mind and focus on the task in hand, which is to overcome relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal won the reverse fixture 5-0 in October, but it's an entirely different story against Steve Cooper's extremely motivated side.
Forest are sat in 16th position with 34 points, three ahead of 18th-placed Leeds with two matches remaining. The club can virtually secure their top-flight status with a win on home turf.
And they'll dearly want to do that rather than rely on other results, or take it to the last day away to Crystal Palace.
Right place, right time…
On paper, this looked a disastrous fixture for Nottingham Forest. The Gunners were hurtling towards an historic title success and were steamrolling everyone in sight.
But, as we know, things have changed.
Brighton dismantled Arsenal on their own patch last weekend and completely knocked the wind out of their sails. The title is gone, and it's very difficult to imagine the Gunners being motivated for this contest.
Forest have won two of their last three and earned a good 2-2 draw away to Chelsea last weekend. They've also found their shooting boots in recent weeks having scored 12 in their last five outings.
It could be a case of right place, right time for Cooper and Co. this weekend.
Goals...
Nottingham Forest turned on the goal tap a few weeks ago and they've not switched it off since.
There's been a total of 23 goals scored in their last five matches, with over 3.5 completed in four of those fixtures.
Cooper has clearly decided to fight fire with fire, and it's working with seven points taken from a possible 12 since April 26.
Goals haven't exactly been an issue for Arsenal either. Only Manchester City have scored more than Saturday's visitors, who've netted 2+ goals in five of their last six on the road.
In form…
He's clearly the man for the big occasion. Taiwo Awoniyi has seriously delivered for Nottingham Forest in recent weeks.
The Nigeria international, 25, has hit back-to-back braces against Southampton and Chelsea right at the most important moment of the campaign.
Awoniyi has five attempts in his last 158 minutes of competitive action, and that's the fourth highest of any forward in the division.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have conceded 24 efforts on their goal in the last two matches, with 11 of those on target - the fourth worst record of any PL side.
