Real Madrid vs Manchester City betting tips
It's hard to imagine anything other than a blockbuster when Spanish and English champions Real Madrid and Manchester City clash at the Bernabeu tonight.
And revenge is almost certainly on the menu after last season's epic encounter. The Citizens led 5-3 on aggregate in the 90th minute of the semi-final second leg, but Real Madrid remarkably fought back before beating Liverpool in the final.
City arrive in freakish form. The Manchester club have won 15 of their last 16 matches in all competitions, scoring a phenomenal 52 goals.
The Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup treble is well and truly in sight having moved clear of Arsenal, and booked a Wembley showdown against rivals Manchester United on June 3rd.
Things aren't exactly the same for Real Madrid, who look certain to be dethroned by Barcelona in LaLiga this season. They have also suffered defeats to Girona and Real Sociedad in recent weeks.
But they have added another trophy to their collection having beaten Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final, and as everyone knows, Real are a different beast when it comes to the Champions League and knockout football.
Big price...
Real Madrid look overpriced here at 9/4 to win on home soil. With the league almost out of sight, their full focus will be on trying to be crowned European champions for the sixth time in the past 10 seasons.
And they've got the perfect man in charge with Carlo Ancelotti, who's won this competition a record four times.
They also boast an incredible record against English clubs in the Champions League. Real Madrid have won 10 and drawn four of their last 18 UCL home fixtures against English opposition.
There are also psychological factors at play with City having been dumped out of the Champions League in two of their last three semi-final appearances. Guardiola himself has also has lost SIX of his last NINE semi-final appearances.
- Our tip:
Goals…
Expect goals. Goals are never very far away when the pair meet in European competition. The last four contests between these sides have produced a sensational 17 goals, at an average of 4.3 a match!
In fact, there's been over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their 10 meetings since 2012 and clean sheets have been fairly rare in recent weeks.
Real have conceded at least one goal in their last four games in all competitions, while City have kept just three clean sheets in their last 10 games in all competitions.
- Our tip:
Vini…
He's on fire in the Champions League. Forward Vinicius Junior has has either scored or assisted a goal in each of his last nine competitive appearances.
He's also scored seven goals and provided five assists in each of his last 10 starts for Real Madrid in the Champions League.
He's scored 22 goals and provided 21 assists in 50 appearances this season, and leads the LaLiga standings for assists, chances created and total goal involvements.
Much of the focus will be on Erling Haaland and Karim Benzema, but 17/2 for Vinicius Junior first goalscorer looks a healthy price.
