AC Milan 2 Inter Milan 2: Ivan Perisic’s last gasp equaliser cancels out Suso double strike
Croatia international gave Inter a deserved point after former Liverpool man struck twice for Milan
AC MILAN were so close to earning the bragging rights over their city rivals as Suso stole the show with a fantastic double strike.
But Ivan Perisic scored a 92nd minute equaliser from a corner to earn Inter a deserved point.
Despite being stuck in 9th in the table, the blue half of Milan had the better of the first 45 minutes.
Yet they went in 1-0 down as Suso caught them on the break, cut inside and fired a curling left-footed shot into the corner of the net.
Perisic wasted two free headers in a first half which must have had him thinking it wouldn't be his day.
In the 53rd minute Inter found an equaliser as Antonio Candreva outdid Suso with a 30-yard drive into the top corner.
AC Milan were furious as they believed the throw-in that the goal came from should have gone to them.
However five minutes later former Liverpool man Suso restored the hosts' advantage.
Receiving the ball from Carlos Bacca, the Spaniard drove towards goal and past the lunge of Miranda.
The Brazilian defender got a touch on the ball but it it wasn't enough to take it off the Spaniard, who side-footed home.
Inter captain Mauro Icardi tends to be a Marmite figure for the club's fans, but they'll definitely be more hating him than liking him after two second half misses.
On 69 minutes he was played in on goal but scuffed the ball straight at Milan keeper Donnarumma.
Then he volleyed wide from a beautiful chipped through ball.
In the end it fell to Croatia international Perisic to make amends for his first half misses as he stole in at the far post to connect with Jeison Murillo's headed flick-on and level the scores at the death.
