Manchester City vs Arsenal betting tips
It's make or break in the title race with all eyes on the Etihad Stadium this Wednesday. Reigning champions Manchester City and long-time league leaders Arsenal clash in what's likely to decide who clinches the 2022-23 Premier League crown.
The Gunners enter the contest still boasting a five-point advantage, but they've played two games more than their rivals with six matches remaining. Mikel Arteta's side were cantering with an eight-point lead at the beginning of the month, but they've stumbled towards the finish line.
Arsenal drew 3-3 with rock-bottom Southampton on Friday, and twice blew a two-goal lead against Liverpool and West Ham in their previous outings. The bookmakers have responded by making Manchester City the 2/9 favourites to collect their fifth title in six years, while Arsenal have drifted to 10/3.
Though they've not lost a top-flight match since February, Manchester City's form means anything less than perfection simply isn't good enough. The Cityzens have been remarkable lately, even by their high standards.
They've won 11 of their last 12 games in all competitions, and have reached the FA Cup final and Champions League semi-final stages. City have won their last 12 at home, scoring a staggering 43 goals with eight clean sheets.
Home win…
It's very difficult to select anything other than a routine home win for Manchester City in this season-defining fixture.
Guardiola's side have hit peak form and they've been utterly ruthless in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup as they march towards an historic treble.
As mentioned, their record of late has been simply frightening, and they also boast an immense record against Arsenal having already beaten them twice this season.
In fact, Manchester City have won each of their last seven meetings by an aggregate score of 17-3. That paired with the fact that Arsenal have conceded seven goals in their last three should see the hosts run out convincing winners.
At the double...
As Oasis would say, he's electric.
Erling Haaland's first season will go down as one of the greatest in Premier League history. He's banged in 42 goals in 48 appearances for Manchester City, and 2+ goals on 14 occasions.
He's edging closer to the Premier League Golden Boot record of 34 goals, jointly-held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole. A brace on Wednesday would see him level that record despite the fact they achieved it in a 42-game season.
Arsenal have been so leaky lately, while Haaland has netted 15 in his last eight matches. He's also on penalties and the Gunners have conceded two of those in their last three.
Goals galore…
It's got goal written all over it.
Manchester City have been winning, and winning in style with 4+ goals scored in five of their last eight games. Arsenal haven't exactly been shy either with eight of their last ten games seeing 4+ goals scored.
Neither side have shown any indication they would 'shut up shop' if they took an early lead, which is entirely possible given they've both scored an incredible number of first-half goals.
The title could also come down to goal difference, and Manchester City are edging that with +50 with Arsenal trailing by seven at +43.
