He swigged a glass of his own brand of whiskey alongside three other men - with one of them identifiable as his manager Audie Attar.

He captioned it simply: "Proper Whiskey Wednesday at The Bird Streets Club."

The members-only bar opened last year and takes its name from Bird Street, the high-end neighbourhood above the Sunset Strip which is home to countless A-listers.

Oscar winner Leonardo Di Caprio, reality TV star Kendall Jenner and singer (and pal of McGregor) Justin Bieber are among its clientele.

The former two-weight UFC champion has been stateside since mid-February having initially flown out to Las Vegas to film The Ultimate Fighter.

But since that wrapped, he's been lapping it up in The Sunshine State of Florida with him revealing that his children are enrolled in a school there.

He is booked to fight Michael Chandler in his long-awaited comeback bout but frustratingly for fans, there's been no progression in determining an exact fight date.

Seemingly, he hasn't even re-entered USADA's drug-testing pool yet.

UFC and USADA policy requires a fighter to be in the pool for a minimum of six months before they're eligible to compete.

The promotion, however, can waive the requirement and have a combatant make a faster return provided they return two negative tests.

The only morsel of detail the 34-year-old has provided fans of late regarding his octagon career was that he is intent on facing nemesis Dustin Poirier for a fourth time.

After watching Israel Adesanya finally lay his ghosts to rest at the fourth time of asking against Alex Pereira at UFC 287, McGregor tweeted: "Quadrilogies are fun."

With Poirier the only foe he has fought three times, this immediately suggested that once he gets past Chandler, the Dubliner has another date with The Diamond in mind.
