Man Utd icons reveal they had huge bust up on eve of 2008 Champions League final forcing Sir Alex Ferguson to intervene
MANCHESTER UNITED icons Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves revealed they had a bust-up on the eve of the 2008 Champions League final.
The pundits shared the story when discussing the scrap between Bayern Munich pair Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane.
Ferdinand said it was a normal part of football for tensions to boil over, suggesting it was not unusual for team-mates to lay hands on each other.
Hargreaves then explained he and Ferdinand almost did exactly that ahead of their Champions League final clash against Chelsea.
Sir Alex Ferguson had to defuse the situation before it escalated out of control.
Hargreaves said on BT Sport: "We (him and Ferdinand) argued in training before the Champions League final between Chelsea.

"It's heated, there's a lot of pressure and people don't like losing."
The pair put their differences to one side and helped United win the final on penalties following John Terry's infamous spot-kick miss.
Ferdinand also revealed recently he used to "bully" former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.
