MANCHESTER UNITED'S injury misery continued after Marcel Sabitzer pulled up injured during the warm up against Nottingham Forest.
It comes after injuries to key defensive duo Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez during the midweek 2-2 draw with Sevilla.
Christian Eriksen came into the team to replace him as Manchester United won 2-0.
Eriksen himself has only recently returned from injury.
It was the first start for the club in the Premier League since the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal in January.
Elsewhere, Luke Shaw and and Tyrell Malacia were also left out of the squad, despite the latter playing in midweek against Sevilla.

Erik ten Hag's squad has been hit by a raft of injuries in recent weeks.
Top goalscorer Marcus Rashford picked up an injury in the 2-0 win against Everton last week.
And the club have confirmed he will be unavailable for at least "a few games".
Club captain Harry Maguire was booked just THREE minutes into the clash against Forest.

But he recovered well and helped United keep a clean sheet as goals from Antony and Diogo Dalot secured the win.
United remain active on three fronts, with games in the Europa League, FA Cup and league all to contend with in the coming weeks.
The Red Devils jumped up to third in the Prem with the win following losses for both Newcastle and Tottenham this weekend.
