Gisele Bundchen breaks silence on ‘very hurtful’ divorce from Tom Brady calling split ‘death of her dream’
GISELE Bundchen has opened up about her split from NFL legend Tom Brady, saying the divorce felt like "the death of her dream."
Bundchen, 42, and Brady, 45, ended their relationship in October 2022 after spending 13 years together.
Rumors of Bundchen planning to break her silence on the divorce in a bombshell tell-all interview have been circulating for weeks.
The Brazilian supermodel sat down with to discuss the breakup and her career resurgence for the magazine's April cover story.
In the interview, Bundchen pushed back against suggestions that her marriage to Brady fell apart because of the former NFL quarterback's retirement U-turn in 2022.
Gisele reportedly choked back tears numerous times during the conversation and compared the split to "the death of her dream" to which she fully committed herself.
“You give a hundred percent of yourself, and it’s heartbreaking when it doesn’t end up the way you hoped for, and worked for, but you can only do your part," the supermodel said.
Bundchen said she and Brady went separate ways for a number of reasons — and that she wouldn't give up on their relationship over the NFL legend's decision to return to the field for one more year.
She vehemently denied giving the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers an ultimatum and asking him to choose between his football career and their marriage.
Gisele called such characterizations “very hurtful” and “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.”

Bundchen added: “What’s been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle.
“It’s not so black and white.”
The Brazilian insisted she always supported Brady in his playing days and "loved" football after familiarizing herself with the game.
"Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever,” she said.
“If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer.
"I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.”
Trying to explain what caused her and Brady to drift apart, Bundchen said they eventually realized their priorities differed as they got older.
“Sometimes you grow together; sometimes you grow apart,” she said.
“When I was 26 years old and he was 29 years old, we met, we wanted a family, we wanted things together.
"As time goes by, we realize that we just wanted different things, and now we have a choice to make. That doesn’t mean you don’t love the person.
"It just means that in order for you to be authentic and truly live the life that you want to live, you have to have somebody who can meet you in the middle, right? It’s a dance. It’s a balance.”
“When you love someone, you don’t put them in a jail and say, ‘You have to live this life.’ You set them free to be who they are, and if you want to fly the same direction, then that’s amazing.”
However, Bundchen did emphasize the career sacrifices she made during her relationship with Brady.
“When we moved to Tampa, I actually had never been there before,” she said.
“I just arrived and that was my life.”
But, the Brazilian added, she feels "grateful" for the extra time she got for herself as well as her and Brady's children during that period.
Bundchen's been busy since the hurtful divorce.
Recently, the supermodel partnered with shoe brand Arezzo in a new campaign that saw her dancing around a stripper pole in a launch video.
