Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero will be desperate to turn Argentina’s fortunes around after a horrendous qualifying campaign that has seen the country fall out of the top five places in the group.
The top four go to Russia 2018 with the fifth placed team facing a play-off but Argentina are slumped in sixth spot.
Brazil, though, are a team still haunted by the humiliating 7-1 semi-final defeat to Germany at World Cup 2014 in the same Mineirao Stadium where they meet Argentina.

What They Say
Sergio Aguero missed a penalty against Paraguay last time out and is grateful to Argentina coach Edgardo Bauza for "continuing to bet on him”.
He said: "We must try to earn the points now and beating Brazil would give us the confidence we need.
"This is a great chance to earn three points and return to the top."
Brazil coach Tite hopes to banish the horror memories from the crushing Germany loss, saying: ''Of course returning here still touches all of us, even those that didn't play.
''But we have to know how to work in all situations. Two years have passed and we are in a different moment.''
Midfielder Paulinho is also looking for salvation. He said: ''Brazil has a chance to rewrite history. 'We are not going to change what happened, but we can leave a good impression this time. After all we went through in 2014, this is a chance to make a comeback against a great team.''
