How combined Arsenal and Man City XI would line up as sides set for crunch Premier League title clash

ARSENAL face Manchester City tonight in a top-of-the-table showdown - but imagine having both squads at your disposal.

The Gunners appear to have been feeling the pressure a bit in recent weeks, drawing each of their last three games including two which saw them blow a two-goal lead.

But Arsenal also showed they had the stomach for the fight after a late fightback to draw 3-3 against Southampton. Meanwhile, Man City have won each of their last six league games.

This has helped them to close the gap to Mikel Arteta's squad to just five points with two games in hand.

The clash at the Etihad later today could see Arsenal move eight points clear and get their title charge back on track.

However, a win for Pep Guardiola's team may offer the momentum boost they need to land a historic third title in a row and take a big step towards a treble.

The reverse fixture saw City arrive at the Emirates in February and win 3-1 thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland.

However, with the two sides almost neck-and-neck at the top, fans have been torn over who is the best team, which led to us dreaming about a potential combined XI from both of the talented squads.

We don’t think that many would argue over the inclusion of Haaland, who already has 48 goals this term, leading the line.

With the fine form of Aaron Ramsdale in goal, he would have many opting for him between the sticks, but we’ve gone for the more-experienced City stopper Ederson.

With the attacking talents both clubs possess, we’ve opted for a flat back four to get them on the offensive, and it has Arsenal’s Gabriel lining up alongside John Stones at the heart.

The Ben White could come in at right-back, while Oleksandr Zinchenko makes it on the opposition flank.

It would be criminal to not include City’s midfield magician Kevin De Bruyne, and we’ve opted for Gunners captain Martin Odegaard alongside him to help provide ammunition with Thomas Partey guarding the backline.

Bukayo Saka has been in inspirational form for the current leaders this term, and he makes the cut behind Haaland.

Then you have an array of talent vying for the last attacking spot out on the left, from Gabriel Martinelli to Phil Foden.

However, given his recent form, Jack Grealish is the man picked by Sun Sport to complete the dream XI.
