Chelsea legend John Terry insists ‘results are not good enough’ and tells manager Potter ‘we need to get a settled team’

CHELSEA legend John Terry has warned Graham Potter that results on the pitch must improve.

The Blues endured a torrid start to the season prior to Potter's appointment as Thomas Tuchel's successor, although the former Brighton chief has failed to stop the rot.

Chelsea are currently toiling in NINTH place in the Premier League table after one win in their last eight and are a staggering ten points behind fourth-placed Newcastle.

And Terry, like many Blues fans, isn't impressed by the team's recent displays.

When asked by a fan if he helped get Potter the job, the former Blues skipper - who is serving as an academy consulting - tweeted: "Absolutely not.

"I tweeted that I loved watching Brighton play and his style of play.

"I have nothing to do with the first team. I'm work[ing] with the [Under] 18s and 21s and love my role.

"Clearly results are not good enough and we need to get a settled team."

Chelsea dropped more points on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by London rivals West Ham, although they were unlucky not to have a second-half penalty after a blatant handball in the box from Hammers defender Tomas Soucek.

Potter couldn't help but lament the VAR and the referee's blunder, saying: “It was a good save.

“You need your goalkeeper sometimes to give you the points.

“You have to earn your luck. We can’t complain or wait for luck to turn for us, we have to keep working.

"It looked quite a handball and, like I said, I didn’t know Tomas could get down so easily and save like that.”

Potter's troops will be back in action Wednesday, travelling to the Westfalenstadion to take on Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The Blues will resume league action on Saturday at Stamford Bridge against managerless Southampton.
