Watch England cricketer Moeen Ali perform unheard of one-handed reverse slap shot.. that doesn’t quite go to plan
MOEEN ALI went to extreme lengths to get quick runs for England in their ODI against South Africa.
When the all-rounder made his way to the crease, an incredible 234-run partnership between Dawid Malan and Jos Buttler had just been broken.
Therefore, Ali was trying to continue the momentum and take England past 300.
He made a strong start to his innings, hitting a couple of boundaries, which put him on 12 from eight balls.
But when he was facing spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, he served up something completely out of the ordinary.
It was more the type of thing you'd expect to see on a tennis court rather than a cricket pitch.

Ali took his left-hand off the bat and attempted to play a one-handed hack, instead of the usual switch hit or reverse sweep, which batsman often use in the shorter format of the game.
Remarkably, he ended up missing the ball.
But it didn't exactly have a negative impact on his innings as he hit the next ball for six and ended up contributing 41 off 23 balls to help England reach 346-7 off their 50 overs.
Even commentator Mark Nicholas couldn't believe what had happened and said that he'd never seen the like before.
