Real reason why F1 legend Johnny Herbert and fellow pundit Paul Di Resta were axed by Sky Sports revealed
THE reason why pundits Johnny Herbert and Paul Di Resta have been axed from Sky Sports' F1 coverage has been revealed.
It was confirmed earlier last week that the duo have been dropped two months before the start of the 2023 season.
The pair were at the end of their respective contracts and the broadcaster have decided against offering them extensions.
Herbert took to to confirm his departure with a photo of the F1 team and a caption that read: "Going to miss this team."

His messages was greeted by plenty of responses from his colleagues.
Naomi Schiff, who joined the team last year, said: "We're gonna miss you the most Johnny. Had so much fun with you. What a kind soul!"
Natalie Pinkham commented: "Johnny, love you forever ever 🙌❤️."
While Rachel Brookes responded: "Not as much as we will miss you!

A spokesperson told : "Johnny has been an integral part of our Formula 1 team since the very first season on Sky Sports in 2012.
"We will miss his humour and big personality and thank him for his energy and enthusiasm over the last 11 years.
"Everyone wishes him all the best for the future."
