Fenerbahce 2 Manchester United 1 player ratings: Which Premier League loan player comes out on top as United are beaten in Turkey

Jose Mourinho's men were found wanting against Fenerbahce as they stare Europe League elimination in the face as United's season continues to spiral out of control

JOSE MOURINHO will be left scratching his head as to what to do with his failing Manchester United team.

Wayne Rooney's late scorcher from 30 yards was not enough to escape the hostile atmosphere of the Sukru Stadium with any points at all and now United sit third in Group A needing to improve immensely if they are going to stay in Europe.

In stead of being the ideal rest bite to an already frustrating Premier League campaign the Europa League has asked questions it shouldn't off from Mourinho's side.

The Portuguese has hardly played a second fiddle team in the competition and when Moussa Sow scored an unbelievable bicycle kick in the second minute to stun United it was the same old story.

United thrust themselves forward in urge of turning the game around only to lose Paul Pogba in the 29th minute and potentially for Sunday's trip to Swansea City.

Mourinho is desperate for his summer recruits to shine none more so than Pogba after the outlay of £89m but his desperation is turning in to a nightmare and when on loan Sunderland winger whipped a free-kick past David De Gea in the 59th minute, his sides fate in Istanbul was sealed.

Fenerbahce have further exposed United's defence with club legend Paul Scholes saying: ''Man United struggle to score goals and with Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo at the back they have to score 3.''
