Fans all say the same thing as Eddie Jones named Australia head coach just weeks after being sacked by England

AUSTRALIA have named former England coach Eddie Jones their new head coach and fans reckon they know what he's going to do at the next World Cup.

Jones has been handed a five-year deal to coach the Wallabies squad after Dave Rennie was sacked.

This means that he will be in charge of Australia for the 2023 World Cup.

Jones was sacked by England in December after seven years in charge of the side following a poor run of results.

And now fans think the 62-year-old is going to try and take revenge on the Red Rose at the World Cup.

One tweeted: "Is Eddie Jones petty enough to intentionally finish second in his RWC pool so he can have a crack at putting England out in the quarters? This reporter says: I really hope so."

A second wrote: "I was literally away to tweet the same thing.

"That would be some match, the man literally knows everything about that England squad."

A third said: "He will see it as the best way to progress?

"With a good deal of extra motivation, I’m sure."

A fourth added: "England are going to lose to an Eddie Jones Australia at the World Cup, aren’t they?"

The Australian previously coached his nation between 2001 and 2005.

After signing his deal that runs to 2027, he said: "It is a wonderful opportunity for me to be able to come home to Australia and lead my nation to a Rugby World Cup.

"It is going to be an immense period for Australian rugby.

"As a proud Australian, it is a great honour to be able to come home and lead the national team during these years."
