Tyson Fury against Oleksandr Usyk undisputed fight update as Frank Warren reveals clash ‘looks positive’ for March
TYSON FURY's historic undisputed heavyweight showdown with Oleksandr Usyk is on course to take place in March.
Negotiations over the dust-up resumed after Fury's farcical defence of the WBA title against Derek Chisora last December, although there were fears an elbow injury could push the fight past the initial spring target date.
But after the IBF rescinded their mandatory order for Usyk to face Filip Hrgovic, co-promoter Frank Warren is confident the spring showdown will materialise.
The Queensberry Promotion's chief told : "We are all looking at March and everybody is really up for getting this done and we are all really positive it will get done.
“There’s still lots of things to be sorted out, but I genuinely believe this will happen.
“It’s good the IBF yesterday knocked out they were going to have their mandatory, they cancelled it.

“Everything is looking positive for it.”
Draft contracts for the lucrative showdown - which is expected to land in the Middle East - were sent out last week.
Warren said: "We’ve sent them a draft contract, that’s where we’re at.
“Listen, it’s gotta be sorted out very, very quickly now because the time is against us.”

Saudi Arabia is one of the front runners to land the bout, although Warren has refused to rule out the possibility of the unification bout taking place in the UK.
The veteran promoter said: “Nothing’s in place from anywhere outside the UK.
“We know what it can generate in the UK, but if it goes elsewhere then that depends on what the numbers are.
“I know a lot of people complain about it and I agree it should be at Wembley, I’d love to see it there.
“But Muhammad Ali and George Foreman went and fought in Zaire, then you had the Thrilla in Manila, you had the big fights in Jamaica.
“They went where the money was and these guys will do the same thing.
“I want to get the fight on in March and so will Tyson.
“We just want to get it on in March and that’ll set them up for another big fight in the autumn.”
