Vettel is still waiting to find out if he will be punished for his foul-mouthed rant after breaking F1's rules by bringing the sport into disrepute.

And his former Red Bull team-mate, Ricciardo, who ironically was boosted up to third due to the German's 10 second penalty for driving erratically, says Vettel needs to calm down.

He said: "I definitely sense Seb is more frustrated this year. He has shown in the past that he can be emotional but this year it seems a little more.

"In the moment it is easy to press the radio button and start saying a lot of things, but we all know it can be broadcast on TV.

"From one side you can say it is the heat of the moment and be a bit lenient with it. But if your instinct is to press the radio button and start blurting off a lot of stuff, then you have to be more sensible.

"You don't need to broadcast it all. You can swear in your helmet and then speak your mind a few minutes later when you are a little more relaxed.

"Some things we have seen before with him, but it has been a bit more uncharacteristic than in previous years. It has probably been a bit too much.

"He is obviously frustrated with how the season has gone. He might have thought they had a chance to fight Mercedes but that is not how the season has happened."

Meanwhile, Jolyon Palmer is hopeful Force India will save his Formula One dream -- if Renault decide to ditch him.

The Brit is out of contract at the end of the season and locked in a shoot-out with Kevin Magnussen and Esteban Ocon for a seat with the French team.

However, Palmer's father, Jonathan, says his son would like to return to Force India, if Renault do not sign him up for 2017.

Palmer snr said: "[Jolyon's] at least in a situation where he is comparing very well to an experienced and highly-rated team-mate in Kevin.

"That's yet to play out and that's the priority for Jolyon. He'd love to continue with Renault, he's put a lot into it this year, he's very bullish and enthusiastic about it.

"But if that doesn't happen, then of course there's no doubt, Force India is a great team. They are fourth in the world championship at the moment, hopefully it keeps that way, and they have done a great job.

"To have a chance of being in Force India would be a great alternative. So that's certainly something that we are pursuing."
