Watch England cricketer Liam Thomas carry on playing after his prosthetic leg falls off during Twenty20 against Pakistan

AFTER a shambolic performance by England in Dhaka they would have done well to to have taken some inspiration from the England Physical Disabilities team. 

When Liam Thomas was fielding at deep-backward square leg he was to give chase and and a dive to stop a hit going for four which he managed in spectacular fashion but at the cost of his artificial leg.

You would think that Thomas would have stopped thinking about the ball and the game as soon as his leg came off but incredibly he carried on hopping over his leg and throwing the ball back to the wicket.

It was the final and clearly Thomas was not going to let a little mishap like his leg falling off stop him and his England team mates from losing such an important match.

Unfortunately however Thomas and the rest of the team were unable to win the game losing as Pakistan overcame England's 137 to win the title with only four balls to spare.

It was heartbreak for the England team coming so close to winning the tournament but they can hold their heads high as they did their country proud.

Team captain Ian Nairn told the ECB website: ''We got off to a good start and then let them back into the game with a few wickets in the middle overs.

''We had a reasonable finish and thought that 137 was competitive. It's not easy batting on such a big pitch – there was a much lower boundary count today.''

''Pakistan got off to a flyer. It got to the point where they only needed 50 but we kept tugging them back and made them work very hard for the win.

''It was a very close battle between two sides who are well matched. We were just found wanting; five extra runs and the game could have been ours. Small margins make such a big difference playing at this level.''

''We didn't quite bring our A-game and that opened the door for them.

''It shows the fight we have in the team that we kept it close but they were the better side today.''
