Sky Sports forced to lower TV sound volume as Gerwyn Price targeted with X-rated abuse in PDC Darts World Championship
GERWYN PRICE endured horrendous abuse and X-rated chants as he survived a second-round scare last night.
The world No.1 came from a set down to defeat plucky Luke Woodhouse 3-1 on night five of the PDC World Darts Championship.
Yet Sky Sports were forced to turn down the TV sound as abusive members of the crowd chanted at the Welshman: "You’re just a s*** Gareth Bale."
Unfortunately, , 37, has grown used to hearing such abuse on a darts stage.
But after booking his spot after Christmas and avoiding the biggest shock of the tournament, he responded to the punters by flexing his huge biceps.
The Iceman – who took out a 150 checkout in the fourth set – may play Raymond van Barneveld in the third round once the turkey has been digested.

And the pair have recent history from last month’s Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.
Price said: "That was really tough, the most nerves I have felt for the last two years. I should have been 2-0 down. Luke, bless him, fell apart thankfully.
"It was a tough game. I needed to get through.
"I am defending big money, I don’t want to go out first round. I never feel nerves so this was out of the ordinary.

"From the word go, I was glad to get through. It’s plain sailing now.
"I would like to pick up the title once again – if they are a bit nicer to me.
"It is tough up here, the majority of the players and the majority of the fans are English and it is really tough. Whatever the crowd and circumstances, I will give it my best."
