Heartbroken England stars consoled by Wags in stands after devastating World Cup quarter-final defeat to France
ENGLAND Wags consoled their other halves after they were knocked out of the World Cup by France.
Phil Foden received a big hug from partner Rebecca Cooke after meeting her in the stands at the Al Bayt Stadium.
Rebecca also appeared to wipe away tears as a glum Foden chatted to another family member following the 2-1 defeat.
Foden’s Manchester City team-mate Jack Grealish also shared a hug with his girlfriend Sasha Attwood.
Sasha had been in high spirits prior to kick-off as she got ready alongside Jordan Pickford’s partner Megan Davison.
She looked despondent following the defeat but not as upset as Kyle Walker’s girlfriend Annie Kilner, who broke down in tears and was consoled by a friend.
Luke Shaw also received support from his missus Anouska Santos as he sat in the stands looking shellshocked.
Meanwhile, Declan Rice did manage to squeeze out a smile as he talked to some young family members and his partner Lauren Fryer.
It was a difficult watch for the Wags throughout after Aurelien Tchouameni fired France in front from long range in the 17th minute.
Annie Kilner had to watch through her fingers and Aaron Ramsdale’s partner Georgina Irwin covered her mouth with her hands as she watched on during the first half.
But shortly after half-time Harry Kane got his wife Katie Goodland and the rest of the Wags jumping for joy when he scored an equaliser from the penalty spot.
It did not last long however as Olivier Giroud headed Les Bleus back in front before Kane blazed over from a second penalty.
Katie reacted by burying her face in her England flag and she looked heartbroken after the Three Lions’ exit was confirmed.
Megan Davison also looked distraught at the final whistle as France set up a semi-final clash with Morocco.
Ahead of kick-off Sasha Attwood, Megan Davison and Anouska Santos looked game-ready as they kitted themselves out in England shirts.
They all posed for the camera and looked positive ahead of the crunch quarter-final clash against France before they were joined by Katie Goodland, Lauren Fryer and Rebecca Cooke in the stands.
Jack Grealish’s partner Sasha got ready with Megan Davinson, girlfriend of Jordan Pickford, and their son Arlo, 3.
Sasha has been cheering on Grealish every step of the way in Qatar.
She has also been letting her hair down and enjoyed a private Robbie Williams gig alongside her Wag pals this week.
Anouska also watched the popstar alongside Harry Maguire’s wife Fern Hawkins and Conor Gallagher’s girlfriend Aine May Kennedy.
