Man City charged LATEST: Club could face RELEGATION or expulsion while suffering Bellingham BLOW

PREMIER LEAGUE champions Manchester City could be EXPELLED from top-flight English football after their breach of 115 financial rules allegations.

Other possible punishments include a points deduction for the reigning champions, transfer bans, spending limits and even the stripping of previous titles.

The investigation into the club's dealings has lasted for four years.

And now the Premier League have published their findings on their website - and it does not make good reading for the Etihad club, although at this stage they have been charged but not found guilty.

Furthermore, reports suggest that the charges could be detrimental to their hopes of signing Jude Bellingham this summer.

  • Weghorst message for United fans

Wout Weghorst set foot on the Old Trafford turf for the first time as a Manchester United player and sent a gleeful message to fans.

The Red Devils posted a clip of the Holland and Burnley striker, 30, who cut short his temporary spell with Besiktas last week to join United on loan for the rest of the season.

He said: "Hello, United fans. Wout Weghorst here. I'm really happy, really proud, to join this amazing club and can't wait to get started.

"For the first time on the pitch now, so hopefully soon together."

Weghorst then signed off with a thumbs-up.

  • Chelsea face 'tough' fight to land Caicedo

Chelsea and Manchester United will find it "tough" prising Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

The Seagulls are thought to want £75million-plus and no bid has yet been made.

And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano believes Brighton will dig in over a 21-year-old who has also been linked to Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to , Romano said: "Chelsea wants Moises Caicedo. But Brighton are a tough team to negotiate with.

"We saw that in the summer when Chelsea signed Marc Cucurella.”

He added: “I think that Chelsea had a brilliant transfer window. They have signed a lot of good players but we don't know yet if it will work.”

“Chelsea are really investing big money. They have signed big talents and top players, so they are definitely the king of this transfer window.”

  • Arsenal favourites to sign Rice

Arsenal are rated 2-1 favourites ahead of Chelsea at 3-1 to sign Declan Rice this summer.

Liverpool and the two Manchester United giants are regarded as very much outsiders as Prem giants monitor West Ham's England midfielder.

The Gunners are tipped to focus on securing on the 24-year-old at the end of the season after losing out to Chelsea for Mykhailo Mudryk.

Coral’s John Hill said: “It looks as though there is going to be a fight for Declan Rice’s services this summer and we make Arsenal the favourites.

“As we have seen this month, Chelsea can bully most teams in the transfer window, and they are second best in the betting to land Declan Rice, should they go for the defensive midfielder.

    • Coral odds for Declan Rice’s club on September 1 2023: 2-1 Arsenal, 3-1 Chelsea, 8-1 Liverpool, 10-1 Manchester United, 12-1 Manchester City
  • 'Diaby no-go this month'

Moussa Diaby's camp believe he will NOT join Arsenal this month.

Newcastle have also been linked with Bayer Leverkusen's France winger, 23.

But Leverkusen are reluctant sellers and want around £88m.

And say there's a disagreement between the Gunners and the German giants over negotiations so far.

Arsenal say they were "first approached" by Diaby's representatives - but his camp "believe the opposite to be true".

And both parties reckon a deal CAN'T be put together in the current transfer window.

  • Shakhtar blast Gunners over Mudryk

Shakhtar Donetsk's CEO has hit out at Arsenal's conduct over Mykhailo Mudryk - and explained why Chelsea landed the star.

The two London clubs were locked in intense talks with the Ukrainian club over their young winger.

But Chelsea won out in the end and signed Mudryk in a deal worth £88m.

Mudryk, who was paraded to fans at half-time of Sunday's win over Crystal Palace, has signed a mammoth eight-and-a-half year contract.

Shakhtar chief Sergei Palkin has spilled the beans on how the deal happened - and why he was not happy at the way Arsenal went about the deal.

Asked why pundits saw the Gunners as favourites for Mudryk, he told the : "It is because Arsenal contacted the player almost one and a half months before they contacted us.

"Can you imagine, for example, to have Mikel Arteta, Oleksandr Zinchenko and the sporting director (Edu) calling you, to have Arsenal calling you almost every day, every two days, every three days?

"Therefore, why did many people around it have the impression that Mudryk was going to Arsenal? It is because Arsenal contacted him and then Mudryk started to watch some games of Arsenal. But negotiations are negotiations."

  • 'Spurs favourites ahead of Arsenal for Trossard'

Tottenham are favourites ahead of Arsenal to sign Leandro Trossard and are already in talks with the Brighton attacker.

That appears to be the view of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano as both London clubs look for a new wideman this month.

Romano told : “Tottenham is exploring the situation with Leandro Trossard right now.

"He is a very good player and he is available on the market now."

"So Tottenham are in conversations with Trossard but at the moment their talks are not very advanced."

Romano added: "Arsenal could also be interested after the situation with Mudryk and I think the next few days will be crucial... they have to decide what they want now."

"So Arsenal is a possibility for Trossard but I think Tottenham are more likely to sign him."

  • Ronaldo set for Navas reunion

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to be joined by Keylor Navas at Al-Nassr.

The duo starred together during their days at Real Madrid.

And Ronnie’s new Saudi side are in transfer talks with PSG to sign their No2 stopper following an injury to David Ospina.

A deal could be done by the weekend, with PSG in the Middle East to play a friendly against a Saudi All-Star XI captained by Ronaldo.

  • Ronaldo set to be skipper vs Messi’s PSG

Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly make his Saudi Arabian debut as CAPTAIN as he prepares to face off with old rival Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo and Messi have been at the forefront of world football for well over 15 years.

Both continued to reach new heights, including dominating the famous Ballon d’Or trophy from 2008 to 2017.

However, Ronaldo finally called time on his European career after signing for Saudi side Al Nassr following the mutual termination of his deal at Manchester United.

Ronaldo signed a record-breaking £173million-a-year contract at the club.

And now, according to , Ronaldo will make his debut in an exhibition match against Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain.

  • Gunners 'let Soares speak to Fulham'

Arsenal will let right-back Cedric Soares speak to Fulham over a January move, reports say.

Soares, 31, has played only four games this season for the Prem leaders.

And Sky Sports claim the Gunners have given the 34-cap Portuguese star permission to discuss personal terms with the Cottagers.

  • Bonuses blew Arsenal way over Mudryk

Shakhtar Donetsk have revealed the bonuses involved in Mykhailo Mudryk's move to Chelsea.

And it was confirmed that it was those "achievable and realistic" bonuses that led to the Blues blowing Arsenal out of the water for Mudryk.

The West Londoners hijacked their rivals' bid to land the winger in the January transfer window after reaching a deal worth a total of £97million with Shakhtar.

The Ukrainian giants' CEO Sergei Palkin confirmed that Chelsea beat the North Londoners thanks bonuses largely related to them winning the Premier League and Champions League.

However, there is no added clause relating to the 22-year-old potentially winning the Ballon d'Or, like his previous manager Robert De Zerbi - now at Brighton - predicted.

And those terms will remain active across the entirety of the Ukraine international's eight-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

  • Spurs want three signings this month

Tottenham are in the market for three players this January - but the future of Antonio Conte could potentially complicate any deals, reports say.

Only two weeks remain before the window slams shut and Spurs are one of seven Premier League teams yet to make a signing.

A clamour for new faces appears to be growing among fans amid a sticky run of form.

reports that there are still three positions the club are eager to fill.

A left-sided attacking player, a right-wingback and a central midfielder are believed to be top of Conte's wish-list.

Spurs spent over £170m during the summer recruiting big stars like Richarlison and Christian Romero.

But Conte has grumbled previously about Tottenham's lack of spending power compared to their Premier League rivals.

The contract of the situation of the head coach has further complicated transfer plans, the Times adds.

The Italian's deal runs out at the end of the season and the Spurs hierarchy fear bringing in new players who are then not fancied by Conte's potential successor.

  • Arsenal trio 'very positive' over new deals

Gunners' prodigies Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba are in "very positive" talks over new contracts.

That's the claim of transfer guru Fabrizio Romano as the Prem leaders look to build on their transformation this season.

Boss Mikel Arteta hopes sporting director Edu can tie up new deals for the key men soon.

And all three says they are happy to stay for the long term.

But England winger Saka, in particular, is the envy of many huge European clubs.

One rumour suggests Manchester City could be keen on a summer move.

That speculation sometimes includes Jack Grealish plus cash moving in the opposite direction.

  • Hammers linked to shock Maguire loan bid

West Ham are considering a shock loan move for Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, reports say.

The centre-back has fallen out of favour with Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag, making only four league starts.

And despite a good winter World Cup showing, still Ten Hag has lost faith in Maguire.

It has even see him field left-back Luke Shaw, 27, in a central partnership with Raphael Varane, 29.

According to The Mirror, United are prepared to make a huge loss on the defender they paid £85million for in 2019.

And it is claimed West Ham are ready to make a move for the unsettled England international in a bid to sign him on loan.

It comes as Wolves attempt to prise Craig Dawson away from London.

Dawson, 32, is rated at around £7m and is keen on a return from to the Midlands having played before at West Brom.

  • Barca 'eye Gundogan after Kante blow'

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan.

The LaLiga giants are hoping to sign the midfielder on a free transfer in the summer.

Gundogan's contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of the season and he will be available on a Bosman deal.

Barcelona have been a big mover in the Bosman market due to the club's recent financial constraints.

They signed the likes of Frank Kessie, Marcos Alonso, Hector Bellerin and Andreas Christensen on free transfers last summer.

The Catalonian side had been interested in signing N'Golo Kante, but he is closing on a new contract at Chelsea.

Therefore the club have turned their attention to Gundogan, according to .

The German is able to discuss terms with Barcelona now as he is in the last six months of his deal.

  • Utd now 'happy to keep Wan-Bissaka'

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's surprise run in the team could have saved his Manchester United career.

Wolves and old club Crystal Palace are thought to have been monitoring the right-back.

But the uncapped Englishman has performed solidly in the last four games after finally coming in for Diogo Dalot.

And boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly ready to take the position off his transfer priorities.

  • ‘Most Utd fans disappointed by Antony’

Paul Parker believes £85.5million winger Antony “seems very immature on the pitch” and has “disappointed” most Manchester United fans.

The ex-Old Trafford defender claims the Brazil ace, 22, recruited from Ajax in August, has yet to adjust to English football.

Former England star Parker told : “Antony has done okay for Man United.

“He hasn’t been amazing but he is also young and needs to adapt to the Premier League.

“But honestly, I think that the vast majority of the fans have been disappointed by him.

“They expected a different kind of player. They expected him to be very quick and run past defenders but he hasn’t really done that.”

“I personally think that he is thinking too slow and he seems very immature on the pitch. He needs to beat people more and believe in himself because he has the abilities to be a very good winger for Man United.”

  • Chelsea kids eyed by German clubs

Chelsea's academy stars are worried by the club's huge transfer spending and being eyed eagerly by German teams.

Mykhailo Mudryk's £88million arrival took the Blues' spending in the summer and January windows close to £500m.

But  say Chelsea's teenage products fear their own progress will now be dented - sparking activity from their agents.

It's reportedly left German clubs wondering if they can nick some bargains - like Bayern Munich did when they signed Jamal Musiala in 2019.

The Stuttgart-born attacking midfielder, 19, played for England up to the U-21s but switched allegiance to Germany, winning 20 senior caps already.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly insists he is backing under-fire manager Graham Potter for the long haul despite slipping to tenth in the Prem.

  • Everton turn to saviour Arnautovic

Everton are hoping Marko Arnautovic can save them from the drop.

TuttoMercatoWeb claims Frank Lampard has made a move for the Bologna striker after sinking to the bottom of the table.

Everton have turned to Arnautovic after having a loan bid for Duvan Zapata rejected by Atalanta.

Arnautovic is open to a Premier League return after the ex-West Ham striker saw a move to Man Utd collapse last summer.

  • Garnacho says no to deal

Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly rejected a new Man Utd deal.

That’s amid links with Real Madrid and Juventus after a breakout season.

The Independent claims Garnacho, currently earning £7,000 a week, has turned down a £20k a week offer from United.

He believes he deserves more after becoming an important player, putting Real and Juve on red alert.

  • Five options for Spurs goalie

Tottenham are making plans to replace Hugo Lloris as their No1 this season.

The Frenchman is under contract at White Hart Lane until 2024, but has endured a torrid season.

Tottenham have now begun the process of sounding out successors for Lloris, who has been at the club since 2012.

Here, SunSport takes a look at some of the potential contenders to become Spurs' new first choice stopper for next season.

  • New look for Potter's Blues

Chelsea could look very different next season if they land more top targets.

The Blues have already secured deals for Mykhailo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile, who are set to become important players.

But Graham Potter still wants a new midfielder and striker, with Declan Rice and Victor Osimhen being linked.

Is this how Chelsea will line up next term?

  • Arsenal ‘matched Chelsea’s Mudryk bid’

Arsenal matched Chelsea's £88million offer for Mykhailo Mudryk... but missed out due to the Blues' more "achievable" bonuses.

Shakhtar Donetsk’s chief executive Sergei Palkin told the Athletic: "When they (Arsenal) proposed the final offer of €70million (£62m) plus €30million (£26m) in add-ons, we sat down and started to talk internally about how it will be fulfilled in terms of the payments, the fixed part and the bonus issues.

"We realised we will not close this deal (with Arsenal).  I said to Edu (the Gunners sporting director) that I did my best but it was not possible.

"These bonuses should be somehow achievable and realistic, let’s say. Therefore, in this case, Chelsea was much more serious and fair in some points.”

  • Exclusive by SunSport's Phil Cadden

Huddersfield have enquired about former Arsenal trainee Robbie Burton.

The Welshman, 23, ended his contract with Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb by mutual consent last week.

As well as Championship strugglers Huddersfield, League One duo Barnsley and Portsmouth have also asked about the availability of the midfielder, who is available as a free agent.

Burton came through the Arsenal academy before he turned down a new contract to step out of his comfort zone by leaving London for Zagreb in February 2020.

  • Depay 'wants Atletico over United'

Memphis Depay is not thinking about a return to Man Utd and instead wants to join Atletico Madrid from Barcelona.

Fabrizio Romano told : “Memphis Depay 100% wants to leave Barcelona and he will leave the club in January. Atletico Madrid is his first priority at this moment in time.

"They are really looking for a replacement for Joao Felix, so Atletico Madrid are now focusing on Depay.

“Inter Milan was also a possibility and of course Manchester United as well. But now that Man United signed Wout Weghorst I don't think that they are going to sign another striker.”
