Everton rejected by Giroud
Everton's transfer chaos continued after they were reportedly turned down by France international Olivier Giroud in a last-gasp attempt to land a striker.
A number of players were linked with late moves to Goodison Park.
Chelsea's Conor Gallagher and Hakim Ziyech, Southampton's Che Adams and Rennes ace Kamaldeen Sulemana were all in the news over potential transfers.
However, Everton were unsuccessful in landing any of their targets.
And former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Giroud, now playing for Italian champions AC Milan, is the latest name to join the list of Everton's failed transfer targets.
According to , Everton offered the 36-year-old World Cup and Champions League winner just under £3million in wages until the end of the season.
Avoiding relegation would have also seen Giroud pocket just shy of £2m.
He would then earn a salary of £7.4m the next season IF Everton were still in the Premier League.
Chelsea's UCL headache
Chelsea boss Graham Potter will have to tell FOUR of his new Blues they are NOT in his Champions League squad when the knockout stage kicks off this month.
Potter has sanctioned a stunning January spending splurge, capped off by the British record deal to bring Argentina ace Enzo Fernandez to Stamford Bridge.
The South American follows Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk, French defender Benoit Badiashile, Ivorian striker David Datro Fofana, English winger Noni Madueke and teenage Brazilian Andrey Santos into SW6, alongside loan capture from Atletico Madrid Joao Felix.
But Uefa’s Champions League regulations only allow clubs to change THREE of their senior list of players for the knock-out stage.
And that means Potter faces the unenviable task of having to give the bad news to the unlucky quartet.
'Jorginho is a DREAM transfer for Arteta'
Italian Zola told SunSport: "If you are a team that wants to be organised, a passing team, then Jorgo is the man.
"He is always in the right place supporting defenders and the other midfielders when they have the ball.
"He is always available when the ball is becoming hot. This is a player who never hides and you can rely on him all the time.
"A lot of players under pressure don’t want the ball but Jorgo is not one of them.
"When you have a player who does not hide when you need to control a game under pressure, you value him a lot. Maybe at times people don’t see this."
Man Utd ‘turned down FOUR transfers'
Manchester United were offered FOUR midfielders on deadline day before bringing in Marcel Sabitzer, according to reports.

And news of him being sidelined until April at the earliest sparked Man Utd into action with just three days left of the window.
They ended up securing their man, with Bayern Munich and Austria's Sabitzer, 28, joining on loan until the end of he season.
But according to , several agents offered players to the club following Eriksen's injury.
Isco, Saul Niguez, Houssem Aouar and Yannick Carrasco were all believed to be options for United.

But Benfica finally relented and accepted an offer worth £106million for the World Cup winner.
That bid triggered Fernandez's release clause but the deal still proved tricky to complete as Chelsea were keen to spread their payment over a series of instalments.
