Moyes TV Misery

Sunderland boss David Moyes’ week goes from bad to worse with post game interview shocker

Seems to be no end in sight for David Moyes miserable time on Wearside. The Black Cats were knocked out the League Cup and Moyes didn't even know the name of ref who sent him off.

SUNDERLAND boss David Moyes' miserable time in the North East continued with his embarrassing post game interview at Southampton on Wednesday.

Moyes put out a strong side but suffered another morale sapping defeat to Southampton in the League Cup courtesy of a stunning strike by Saints new boy Sofiane Boufal.

To add insult to injury the Scot fronted up for his post match interview and was asked about what referee Chris Kavanagh said to him.

Moyes replied: "I don't know who Chris Kavanagh is."

Moyes' interview gaffe sums up the former Manchester United manager's time in football since he was sacked at Old Trafford in 2013 for failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Moyes resurfaced in Spain with Real Sociedad in November 2014 and was sacked a year later after winning just 12 games.

Sunderland's preparation for Saturday's vital home game with high flying Arsenal was hampered by thick fog as they tried to return to the North East.

The club's flight back was cancelled and they were forced to stay in a hotel overnight and undergo a recovery session on Thursday morning.

They are due to arrive back on Wearside this afternoon, less than 48 hours before the vital lunch time game against the Gunners.  Arsene Wenger's side will be looking to get back to winning ways after dropping points at home to Middlesbrough last weekend.
