Who could England play in the next round of Euro 2024 if they qualify from Group C?

ENGLAND begin their Euro 2024 campaign this week as they face Serbia in their Group C opener on Sunday.

The Three Lions will work their way through a tough group containing Serbia, Slovenia and Denmark to try and book a place in the last-16 in Germany.

Gareth Southgate's 26 strong squad are the favourites to top the tricky group with the stacked talent they have throughout the team.

But they will still have to be at their best to get the results they need to get through to the next round having been shocked by Iceland in a 1-0 loss in their final friendly before the tournament proper.

Who could England play in the next round?

Should England perform to their best and advance from their group then there is multiple different options as to who they could face in the next round.

The Three Lions' opponents will depend on where they finish in the group.

Winning the group will give them the easiest opponent on paper, finishing second will give them a tougher task and advancing as one of the four best third-placed finishers will offer them another tricky opponent.

Should England win the group then they will face a third-placed side that advances from Groups D, E or F.

A second placed finish would see them take on the winners of Group A - the group containing Germany, Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland.

While sneaking through in third place would mean they take on the winner of either Group F or Group E - potentially bringing opponents such as Belgium and Portugal into play.

• England begin their Euro 2024 campaign with a Group C clash against Serbia on Sunday, June 16.
• The game will kick-off from 8pm UK time.
• The AufSchalke Arena in Gelsenkirchen will play host to the fixture.
