Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has taken advice from Theo Walcott on how to become ‘finished’ player

Gunners star was scored a brace in win over Reading as boss Arsene Wenger reveals he has been learning from team-mate

ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN is taking advice from Theo Walcott on how to become a “finished” player, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed.

The Ox was sensational as he scored twice in the Gunners 2-0 win over Reading in the League Cup tonight.

And Wenger has claimed the 23-year-old is learning from England winger Walcott on how to be more consistent.

Wenger said: “Before he acted in front of goal that he didn’t deserve to score. He has belief now. He finishes well, and has added that to his game.

“He is following Walcott in the same way. They are lifting each other and can play on both flanks.

He needs to continue to work

“He’s sharper and more determined. Has worked mentally on his focus. he’s not a young player any more.

“He’s now 23, and you have to become a finished article. He was so talented, so young, in the national team so young.”

Walcott has been excellent for Arsenal so far this season, scoring eight times and already topping stats from previous years.
