In a bad tempered match where more players were on the floor than on their feet, Wilshere nearly let it get the better of him, diving into a couple of challenges in a poor first half - possibly down to Spurs fans jeering him for the whole match.
When he got into a rare shooting position on the edge of the box, he miscontrolled the ball and was closed down.
The on-loan Arsenal midfielder could not find much space to make runs or play people in with his range of passing chiefly down to Spurs' defensive midfield marshal Victor Wanyama who snuffled him out very effectively.

Wilshere currently leads the way as the Premier League's best passer with a 89.1% passing accuracy - ahead of four Arsenal players - but a few times his balls were intercepted.
Nonetheless, he did make things tick in the centre of the park for a resilient Cherries who more than held their own against title-challenging Spurs.
Towards the end he had a chance to shoot on the edge of the box amid late pressure, but chose to pass - which did not find his man, and he needs to be more clinical in front of goal.
But crucially for Wilshere, it was the first time in over two years that the England international played 90 minutes - an incredible statistic highlighting his recent injury woe.
Wilshere is getting game-time and crucially, seems to be appreciated on the south coast - and despite a relatively quiet afternoon, he is still a worthy addition to the side.
Afterwards, Wilshere said: "We knew we had to match their hard work and pressing, but have quality on the ball to.
"We knew we would have opportunities if we put them under pressure. Unfortunately, we didn't put one in, but we are still happy.
"I feel better and better each week, the manager hasd been great to me, easing me in slowly. I am getting fitter and contributing more to the team."
