Arsenal's hot streak at the top of the Premier League continues courtesy of a Bukayo Saka goal which secured all three points in Yorkshire.

It was by no means simple for the Gunners who had to endure a second half of Leeds piling on the pressure. A penalty miss, a penalty overturned, and a number of Leeds chances went begging.

Arsenal stay top for now. All eyes on Manchester City, who are currently 1-0 down to Liverpool...

    Thanks for reading, goodbye!

  • Ramsdale reacts

Arsenal's saving grace this admitted that the team weren't at their best today, tweeting that fans spent the afternoon biting their nails.

He kept his side in it today.

  • Gunners next 5 PL fixtures

Arsenal have to play two Europa League games against PSV in the next couple of weeks. But here are their next five in the Premier League:

    • Southampton (A)
    • Nottingham Forest (H)
    • Chelsea (A)
    • Brighton (H)
    • Wolves (A)

  • Why was Gabriel's red card overturned?

In the midst of the stoppage time mayhem, Gabriel was shown a red card which was then rescinded before being shown a yellow instead.

It is thought that Gabriel's actions were unsporting, as he appeared to kick Bamford from the floor. However, his behaviour was not deemed to be serious foul play.

  • Arteta grateful for VAR

Mikel Arteta was a relieved man in his post-match interview.

The Spaniard was quick to acknowledge the importance of VAR, joking that the half hour delay before kick-off was worth it in the end.

The stoppage time review saved his side from conceding a second penalty.

Thank God we made the system work before the game so that delay was worth it because without VAR I don't know what would have happened.

  • Arsenal learning to win 'ugly'

One of the biggest changes in Arsenal this season is their ability to see out difficult games, a criticism of the side last year.

They secured an uncomfortable 1-0 victory in midweek against Bodo/Glimt, also thanks to a Saka goal.

Arsenal have often been seen as a side who play beautiful football, but win the ugly, physical games.

However, Mikel Arteta appears to be turning the North London side into a winning machine who can do it every way.

  • A day of villains

After an impressive start to the game, Rodrigo was responsible for gifting the ball to Saka, which led to Arsenal's goal. The Spaniard was consequently substituted at half-time.

Marsch had this to say on the error: "He makes the choice to play this big switch which is not what we normally do and it costs him and the team. But in general he's had a good run of form and we need him."

His second half replacement, Patrick Bamford, appeared to follow suit, blazing his spot-kick wide after being awarded a penalty.

Nobody in white had their shooting boots on this afternoon.

  • Marsch left frustrated

Jesse Marsch saw his side come close to scoring on multiple occasions, but it just didn't quite happen for them in front of goal today.

We're disappointed and frustrated. However, also proud of the way we played. This business is about collecting points and not just performances but that was a showcase of the way we can play when we're at our best.

  • Arteta praises players' 'fight and resilience'

Mikel Arteta records his ninth Premier League win of the season.

It's always intense here. The game became really chaotic and we had to handle it. From the first whistle in the second half, we put ourselves in big trouble. In those moments, I love the fight and the resilience and the courage. Credit to then [Leeds] in the second half, they were really good.

My heart is still racing. It was a really tough game. Leeds did really well, especially in the second half. They put a lot of pressure on us so it makes it extra nice for us to leave here with all three points.

  • VAR stealing the show

VAR had an afternoon to remember.

It all started when the game was temporarily suspended because VAR was not working after a power cut.

It didn't finish there, though. A handball was given against Saliba on the replays, leading to Bamford's penalty miss.

VAR then came back to haunt Leeds, overturning a penalty in stoppage time!

  • Gunners 'Marsch' on

Arsenal were tested to the very last minute this afternoon, somehow coming away unscathed.

For the Leeds fans, it will feel like an opportunity missed.

The most dramatic finish to the most dramatic second half.

It has been chaos from the very first minute when the players were sent back to their dressing rooms following an issue with the referee's communication system.

Saka got the first and only goal to put the Gunners in front at the break.

But it was all Leeds in the second half. Bamford sent his penalty wide before having another one overturned in stoppage time.
