During the game, a fan invaded the field and ran around with what appeared to be a flare in this hand.

He evaded security but was powerless when Rams stars Bobby Wagner and Takk McKinley decided to take matters into their own hands.

Wagner, weighing 242lbs and McKinley, weighing 260lbs, bodychecked the fan to the ground.

The winded streaker was then taken away by security after being taken down.

Another joked of Wagner: "Only tackle he’s made all year."

A third cheekily asked: "Does it count for a tackle for my fantasy team!?"

On the ESPN 2 "Manningcast" - NFL legends Peyton and Eli enjoyed the incident.

Peyton, 46, roared: "That’s what we’re talking about! Wagner!

"A veteran… Get him down, get out, and let these guys [the security] take over."

While Eli, 41, added: "Amateur hour there.

"If you’re gonna streak, you gotta go full-throttle and go nude, right? I mean, what is this?"

Fans were left clad in black whose knee appeared to buckle in the turf while chasing the invader - with some worried that it could be an ACL injury.

US sprint hero Michael Johnson tweeted: "This idiot disrupts the game.

"But look at the guy in all black top of the screen injures himself (ACL?) trying to stop him! Damn!"
